Stroll via Souq (market) while trying some delicious local foods of Jordan such as knaffeh, shawarma, fresh fruit juice and the famous falafel, eat with the locals and gain a unique perspective of the city. Afterwards, head to “Grandmother’s House” or namely Beit Sitti restaurant located just in Jabal Al Weibdeh. This activity will let you learn and experience to cook a traditional Arabic meal with the help of Hajjeh. Continue driving along the famous ancient caravan route the King’s highway and make a stop at Dana Reserve, the largest and only nature reserve in the Kingdom of Jordan. Your lunch will be served here by a local Bedouin. Then continue to your hotel in Petra, check-in and freshen up. At 18:40, proceed to the Petra Kitchen for your culinary experience. At 19:00 start the cookery course with the other guests. You will be divided in several groups and prepare a Jordanian dish (mezze, salads, main course), working alongside local women and an experienced chef. Today, explore the red rose city, Petra – the biggest attraction of Jordan and was first established around the 6th century B.C. by the Nabataean Arabs, a nomadic tribe who settled in the area and laid the foundation of a commercial empire that extended into Syria.  Together with your guide pass the canyon, the so called Siq, to see the most beautiful monument: the Treasury. Continue via the Street of Facades to the Royal Tombs and Pharaoh's Castle. After around 2 hours the guide says farewell to you at the restaurant area; free time to explore Petra on your own. We recommend to climb the 800 stairs to the Monastery El Deir. Depending on the time you finish, have your lunch at a local restaurant outside the archaeological park serving a variety of mouthwatering local cuisines from mezze (salads) to main dish and deserts. Drive for 1.5 hour to the protected area of Wadi Rum and proceed to your camp. Around 10 minutes before dinner time, make sure to proceed to where the local Bedouins cooked the highlight of your dinner, the Zarb. Witness how they pull out the cooked dish from underground. Zarb is a traditional cuisine of Jordan cooked underground containing a mixture of chicken or lamb, carrots, onions and rice. Overnight in Wadi Rum.
